Are you already being treated by a practitioner who works with Microbiome Center? Then the request for the analysis and possible treatment goes through your practitioner. On this page you can read how the process goes, what steps you can expect and how your practitioner and Microbiome Center work together during the treatment.
When we talk about a practitioner, we mean a doctor or healthcare professional who is affiliated with Microbiome Center. Only affiliated practitioners can prescribe a personalized microbiome prescription and guide you throughout the process.
This is how the process goes through your practitioner
A home test that provides insight into your microbiome health. The analysis forms the basis of your personalized treatment plan. Alternatively, it can be requested independently for microbiome insights only.
If you are already being treated by a practitioner who works with Microbiome Center, you do not have to request an analysis yourself. The practitioner will then prescribe these to you.
How the test works
- Receive your kit: We will mail a compact home kit directly to you with clear, easy-to-follow instructions.
- Collect your sample: Take a small stool sample in the comfort of your home and place it in the provided return envelope.
- Laboratory analysis: Send it back to us, where our lab will perform an extensive analysis of your microbiome.
Your Personalized Results
Within two weeks, you will receive a comprehensive report detailing:
- Your microbial profile: An overview of the specific bacteria living in your gut.
- Ecosystem balance: How your current bacterial levels compare to a healthy benchmark.
- Vulnerabilities & disruptions: Identification of any structural imbalances or potential areas of concern.
Note: If you are working with a practitioner, a copy of this report will be automatically shared with them so you can review the findings together.

What to Expect in Your Consultation
A certified practitioner from our network will meet with you to discuss:

- Therapy fit: Whether a tailored microbiome therapy aligns with your health needs.
Together, you and your practitioner will determine the most effective next steps for your care.

Consultation fees
Through the Platform: If you choose a package that includes a consultation when ordering, the fee is covered in your upfront cost.
Direct Care: If you work independently with a practitioner, consultation fees are typically billed directly by the practitioner.
Personalized microbiome therapy
If appropriate, your practitioner will provide a personalized supplement recommendation.
How the treatment is composed
The treatment is prepared exclusively on prescription and is:
- based on your analysis, complaints and medical background,
- assessed by your practitioner,
- prepared by a licensed pharmacist according to pharmaceutical guidelines,
- tailored to your personal situation.
Aftercare and guidance
- You will receive your personal microbiome therapy at home, along with clear instructions for use.
- During follow-up consultations, you and your practitioner discuss how the treatment is going.
- If necessary, the practitioner can evaluate the treatment and give additional advice.
Your practitioner remains the point of contact
The Microbiome Center supports practitioners with analyses and personalized recipes. For questions about your result, treatment or progress, please contact your practitioner.
