If you already have an affiliated practitioner
Are you already being treated by a practitioner who works with Microbiome Center? Then the request for the analysis and possible treatment goes through your practitioner. On this page you can read how the process goes, what steps you can expect and how your practitioner and Microbiome Center work together during the treatment.
When we talk about a practitioner, we mean a doctor or healthcare professional who is affiliated with Microbiome Center. Only affiliated practitioners can prescribe a personalized microbiome prescription and guide you throughout the process.
This is how the process goes through your practitioner
A home test that provides insight into how your microbiome functions. The analysis forms the basis for any treatment, but can also be requested completely separately if you only want insight into your microbiome.
If you are already being treated by a practitioner who works with Microbiome Center, you do not have to request an analysis yourself. The practitioner will then prescribe these to you.
How the test works
- You will receive a small home kit with clear instructions.
- You take a small sample at home and send it to the laboratory via the enclosed return envelope.
- There, the microbiome in your stool is extensively analyzed.
What you receive
Within two weeks you will receive a personal report that shows:
- which bacteria are present in your intestines,
- how that relationship relates to a healthy balance,
- and where possible disruptions or vulnerabilities are.
If you work with a practitioner, he/she will also receive this report so that you can discuss it together.

What happens in the consultation?
Your practitioner will discuss with you:
- your symptoms and medical background
- The result of the analysis
- the possible causes of your symptoms
- whether microbiome therapy suits your situation
Based on this, you will determine together which follow-up steps are appropriate.

Consultation fees
Consultation costs are always charged by the practitioner himself and not by the Microbiome Center.
Personalized microbiome therapy
If therapy proves appropriate, your practitioner will prescribe a prescription.
How the treatment is composed
The treatment is prepared exclusively on prescription and is:
- based on your analysis, complaints and medical background,
- assessed by your practitioner,
- prepared by a licensed pharmacist according to pharmaceutical guidelines,
- tailored to your personal situation.
Aftercare and guidance
- You will receive your personal microbiome therapy at home, along with clear instructions for use.
- During follow-up consultations, you and your practitioner discuss how the treatment is going.
- If necessary, the practitioner can evaluate the treatment and give additional advice.
Your practitioner remains the point of contact
The Microbiome Center supports practitioners with analyses and personalized recipes. For questions about your result, treatment or progress, please contact your practitioner.
